SCOR Application Cases

This division of AT T began life as McCaw Cellular Communications, Inc. AT T acquired McCaw in 1994 after McCaw had established a substantial market position for cellular services around the world. The business changed its name to AT T Wireless Services in 1995. By then, it had a number-one position in North America in additional to its global presence. Wireless Services purchased or manufactured and then distributed wireless technology hardware for its customers. It had also established a core competence in manufacturing and a reputation for performance excellence in the marketplace. [Pg.182]

However, problems related to the supply chain for wireless equipment threatened the future of the business. These included the following  [Pg.182]

Wireless Services decided to employ the SCOR methodology in attacking its supply chain problems. The following sections describe that activity at each level of the SCOR development process. [Pg.182]


To validate tire model and encourage its adoption, PRTM and AMR assembled a 69-company advisory group. The advisory group foimd value in the model in terms of its potential to lift supply-chain performance to a new level. The Supply-Chain Coimcil was tiren laimched to advance use of the model.
