Absorption Antihistamines are well absorbed. Approximately 40% to 60% reaches systemic circulation with oral dosing. Onset of action is rapid, is to 30 minutes. Onset of action for transdermal scopalamine discs is 4 hours.

Brockel and Fowler (1995) treated rats which were trained to react to visual stimuli with haloperidol for 3 months. The reaction time increased, Scopalamine, benz-tropine and d-amphetamine ameliorated haloperidol -induced reaction time slowing.
