Scientific Advice Review Group

Pharmaceutical sponsors may seek advice on their development programs from the CPMP. The CPMP has set up a scientific advice review group to strengthen and widen CPMP input and to guarantee the availability of proper expertise. A standard operating procedure for the giving of scientific advice by the CPMP for innovator medicinal products has been adopted. 

The NTP is located administratively at the NIEHS/NIH and receives advice on its activities from three external groups The NTP Executive Committee, the NTP Board of Scientific Counselors, and the Scientific Advisory Committee on Alternative Toxicological Methods. The NTP also uses special emphasis panels for independent scientific peer review and advice on targeted issues. 

In 1990, at the request of the European Council, the European Commission set up an informal group of scientists, known as the Scientific Expert Group (SEG), to give advice on setting limit values, after having reviewed the different approaches in the Member States. In 1991, the first set of 27 ILVs was proposed by the EC and agreed by Member States on the basis of pre-existing national positions (Directive 91/322/EEC)."...
