Schott filter glasses

The Schott filter glasses are classified into groups listed in Table 3.4-24 ... [Pg.566]

The isolation of the crystals is never accomplished by ordinary filtration, but always by collecting them at the pump on a filter paper, or, in the case of concentrated acids and alkalis, on glass wool, asbestos, or, best of all, on Schott filters of sintered glass. Large amounts of substance are collected on Buchner funnels (Fig. 6) of size appropriate to the quantity of the material to be separated. [Pg.9]

In Fig. 4 an opaque plastic sample holder (H) whose 0.5-mm thick base contains a 3 mm wide x 10 mm long slit (S), positions the bottom of a 13 mm I.D. x 45 mm glass vial at 1.5 mm above the top surface of a Verlauf B-60 wedge interference filter (F) (60 mm long x 25 mm wide x 3 mm thick Schott Optical Glass Co., Inc.). The filter is mounted in a 3-mm thick filter holder which slides horizontally 1 mm above the photocathode of an EMI 9789 QB phototube (effective diameter of photocathode 10 mm). The total distance from the bottom of the solution in the glass vial to the photocathode is 6 mm. A synchronous motor rotates a screw drive which in turn drives the... [Pg.301]

In the case of a pressure drop in the system, a relay connected to the contact manometer 5 was turned on, and the circuit of an induction coil in one of the arms of the valve 6 was closed. An iron rod was drawn into the magnetic field of the coil, the mercury in the other arm of the manometer dropped, and oxygen from vessel 7 entered the system through a glass tube with a Schott filter. The amount of absorbed oxygen was calculated according to the pressure drop in this vessel. [Pg.10]

Because OBAs excite below 400 nm and emit above 400 nm, AS/NZ 4399 recommends the use of a Schott UG-11 filter glass for monochromatic illumination. Its spectral transmittance is shown in Fig. 11. [Pg.521]

Figure 14. Fluorescence decay time of hydroxypyrene trisulfonate bound to apomyoglobin (A) 60pAf apomyoglobin, 50pAf hydroxypyrene trisulfonate in lOmAf Mes buffer pH 5.0. The emission was measured (in arbitrary units) at a streak speed of 15 mm/nsec at the wavelengths 400—450 nm using BG-3 (3 mm) and GG 400 Schott glass filters. (B) The excitation laser pulse measured under identical conditions as seen by reflection from the front and back surfaces of an empty 0.5-cm cuvette. Figure 14.
