Waters may be accessed through www.waters.com, which brings up its home page. If the products information is opened followed by chromatography chemistry products, then sample preparation products, one has found the information available on SPE. For example. Waters extensive applications bibliography is cited in its sample preparation products. 

These and other sorbents are supplied in prepacked columns. Analy-tichem (Varian Sample Preparation Products) Bond Elut, International Sorbent Technology (Jones Chromatography) Isolute and Waters Sep-Pak are all well-known names. The sorbents are also available in bulk, and a wide range of accessories is available, such as Luer stop-cocks, vacuum pumps, manifolds and regulators. Analytichem columns, supplied by Varian Sample Preparation Products (see section 2.7.4), are supplied prepacked and have sample capacities ranging from 0.3 to 300 ml. They are available in three basic varieties buffered at pH 4.5 for extraction of acids, buffered at pH 9.0 for extraction of bases, and unbuffered. Inexpensive racks and collection tubes are available. The diatomaceous earth can be purchased in bulk, and it is easy to make one s own columns in plastic or glass.

This type of information is now readily available on the internet world wide web through browsers such as Netscape, making the inclusion of a printed directory less important. Therefore, only a limited list of the major manufacturers and suppliers of analytical standards, sample preparation products, and TLC products and instruments, many of which we have dealt with in our research, is given below. 

Numerous companies supply SPE columns, cartridges, disks, and accessories, including Varian Sample Preparation Products, Whatman Inc., J.T. Baker, Supelco, EM Separations, and Millipore-Waters Chromatography. Protocols for analyses and bibliographies of applications are also available from these companies.
