S to I Charge Transfer Interactions for Mesoporous TM Oxides

O Is Oxygen, M is Transition Metal Centre, R is the Alkyl Chain of Alcohol [Pg.710]

The developed methods using the charge transfer interaction to synthesize ordered mesoporous materials are generic in terms of both reaction conditions, [Pg.711]

TM sources used, and postheat treatment conditions to remove the organic templates. There are numerous excellent review articles summarizing these conditions and the physicochemical properties of synthesized mesoporous oxide materials [13,39,46,71,87,88]. Typical TM sources in these studies are either TM alkoxides (i.e., titanium isopropoxide) or anhydrous TM chlorides. TM chlorides react with alcohols in situ to form TM alkoxides (i.e., WCle + 6C2H6O W(C2H50)6 + 6HC1) [46,79]. Typically, hydrolysis and condensation of TM sols in alcoholic solutions are controlled under low pH (0-4) conditions [11,14,46,86]. [Pg.711]
