Ruthenium has also been found to be very efficient promoting C-E bond activation under mild conditions [8]. In 1997, Perutz and co-workers reported C-E bond activation of C F with [RuHj(dmpe)2] [10]. More recendy, Whittlesey and co-workers described a similar dihydrido-ruthenium complex bearing an NHC, which achieved... [Pg.193]

Reactions of the silene hydride complex Cp Ru(P(Pr-/)3)(I I)(r 2-C.I I2=SiPh2) with hydrosilanes proceed via an initial migration of the hydride to the silene ligand, affording as the final products either the disilyl hydride or the mono silyl dihydrido ruthenium(IV) complexes as described in Scheme 21. Similar reductive elimination and... [Pg.2080]

Photochemical reactions of Ru3(CO)i2 and Os3(CO)i2 with nitrogen hetero-cycles have been studied, with substitution products being formed in most cases. For example, with pyridine the ruthenium compound forms the ortho-metallated complex Ru3H(CO)i i(CsH4N), while the osmium compound gives the simple substitution product Os3(CO)n(py). The novel dihydrido triruthenium cluster H2Ru3(CO)io can be synthesized by photolysis of Ru3(CO)i2 under an atmosphere of dihydrogen. [Pg.310]

Only recently the use of cyclopentadienyl ligands for Ru-catalyzed hydroformy-lation was re-evaluated. Thus, in order to block the undesired hydrogenation activity, which is attributed to formation of dihydrido-ruthenium species, both cyclopentadienyl ligands (Cp, Cp, Indenyl) and diphosphines were suggested [11]. A typical precatalyst was generated by the reaction of a dimeric dichloro Ru(Cp ) complex with Xantphos (Scheme 1.32). Treatment with NaOMe in... [Pg.41]
