Rotary valves storage

Spray Drying and Agglomeration. Most instant coffee products are spray-dried. Stainless steel towers with a concurrent flow of hot ak and atomized extract droplets are utilized for this purpose. Atomization, through pressure nozzles, is controUed based on selection of the nozzles, properties of the extract, pressures used, bulk density, and capacity requkements. Low inlet ak temperatures (200—280°C) are preferred for best flavor quaHty. The spray towers must be provided with adequate dust coUection systems such as cyclones or bag filters. The dried particles are coUected from the conical bottom of the spray drier through a rotary valve and conveyed to bulk storage bins or packaging lines. Processors may screen the dry product to... [Pg.388]

Discharge of clinker from storage structures is effected through the appropriate number of outlets equipped with rotary valves or gates (as closing devices) with attached vibratory chutes feeding the clinker to apron conveyors, belt conveyors or clinker handling cars. [Pg.643]

A rotary valve with venturi entrainer, Fig. 6, was designed to remove grain dust (also containing a c tain amount of grain) from a storage bin at a rate of 81 h l ... [Pg.309]

A slurry pump operating at 1 atm must be selected to transport a coal slurry from an open storage tank to a rotary drum filter, at a rate of 250 gpm. The slurry is 40% solids by volume and has an SG of 1.2. The level in the filter is 10 ft above that in the tank, and the line contains 400 ft of 3 in. sch 40 pipe, two gate valves, and six 90° elbows. A lab test shows that the slurry can be described as a Bingham plastic with v = 50 cP and t0 = 80dyn/cm2. [Pg.262]

MEMS find wide applications in microsensors such as acoustic waves, biomedical, chemical, inertia, optical, pressure, radiation, and thermal microactuators like valves, pumps, and microfluidics electrical and optical relays and switches grippers tweezers and tongs as well as linear and rotary motors, etc., in various fields. They also find application in microdevice components such as palmtop reconnaissance aircrafts, minirobots and toys, microsurgical and mobile telecom equipment, read/ write heads in computer storage systems, as well as ink-jet printer heads [4]. [Pg.5]
