Roofing tapes

In pressure sensitive roofing tape, the plasticizer imparts a resiliency and gives a permanent tack. It is essential to select an appropriate concentration of plasticizer in relation to the type and concentration of the tackilying resin. 

Asbestos fibers have also been widely used for the fabrication of papers and felts for flooring and roofing products, pipeline wrapping, electrical insulation, etc. Asbestos textiles, comprising yam, thread, cloth, tape, or tope, also found wide apphcation in thermal and electrical insulation, friction products in brake or clutch pads, etc. In recent years, some of these appHcations have decreased to various extents, although others remain fairly active, typically in friction materials. 

Figure 3 indicates a roof detail at an exterior wall. Note that the upper surfaces of joists are detailed to be sloped to minimize dust collection and that all interior joints are taped to prevent manufacturing components and product from entering joints. Exterior surfaces of insulation should receive a coating of weather-resistant paint. 

Use Roofing compounds, hot-melt adhesives, friction tape, sealants, heating oil for large buildings, factories, etc. 

Choice and preparation of these tapes are discussed in Chapter 32. At the end of the peel, the doctor has several rows of precut strips that can be picked up with the fingertips. They are placed gradually on the skin, with several millimeters overlap between them, as on a tiled roof. 

The adhesive bonding of plastic assembly components such as instrument panels, spoilers, spare wheel boxes, roof parts, trim assembles, and fenders is generally with one- or two-component polyurethanes. Frequently, a primer is used as pretreatment to improve adhesion. Adhesive tape systems can provide good results for the bonding of dash panels, trim lines, insignia parts, and rear view mirrors, for example. 

Poly(ethylene vinyl alcohol) and cellulose acetate are used in tire imierliner. High molecular weight polyisobutylene plasticizer (molecular weight 2,300 daltons) is used in pressure sensitive tape for roofing applications. ...
