Ribosome modulation factor

Fig. 11.3 Effect of the position of Shine-Dalgamo (SD) sequence on polyamine stimulation of ribosome modulation factor (RMF) synthesis, a Nucleotide sequence of 5 -untranslated region of rm/mRNA. b E. coli MA261Awj/carrying pMW-lacRMF (wild type, WT), pMW-lacRMF (SD), or pMW-lacRMF(SD ) was cultured in the presence and absence of 100 (ig/ml putresdne. Western blotting of RMF synthesized from wild type and SD sequence modified rm/mRNAs was performed using 5 pg protein. Values are means standard errors of triplicate determinations, ns, p>0.05 , p<0.05 , p<0.01... The release of previously labeled messenger and ribosomal RNA from nuclei has been achieved in vitro without nuclear lysis in presence of dialyzed cytosol and spermidine. The release induced by the cytosol is energy dependent. The release from regenerating liver nuclei in presence of regenerating liver cytosol is twice what it is in presence of normal liver cytosol. It is postulated that the cytosol contains nondialysable factors that modulate the processing and transport of RNA to cytoplasm after transcription of the RNA has taken place [251]. [Pg.122]
