1 Review of Different Latex-Agglomerated Anion Exchangers 

At present, 16 different anion exchangers (lonPac ASl to AS17) with diverse selectivities are available from Dionex. The structural and technical characteristics of these separator columns are summarized in Table 3-6. Additionally, special columns for the fast separation of simple inorganic anions as well as for amino acids, peptides, proteins, oligonucleotides, and carbohydrates are also available. 

The different selectivities are mainly governed by the following parameters  

While the ion-exchange capacities of these separator columns are directly proportional to both the size of the latex beads and the degree of latex coverage on the substrate surface, they are inversely proportional to the particle size of the substrate.
