It contains 400 kg (880 pounds) of FeTi and has a reversible storage capacity for 12 pounds of H2 when charged to 500 psig pressure. This is equivalent to about 12 size-K compressed gas cylinders at 2000 psig. As shown in Table V, there are significant weight and pronounced volume advantages for the hydride revervoir over 12 compressed gas cylinders. 

Improved complex metal hydrides are still under development, the reversibility is often the main issue. Special catalyst materials are required in order to make the charging process possible and often elevated temperature levels are necessary in order to achieve a sufficient reaction velocity. At present NaAlUj is the most promising candidate as complex hydride material with a reversible storage capacity of 5.5 wt% [26].
