Reusable plastic shipping containers

Many U.S. businesses have made the decision to receive their supplies and ship their products in reusable plastic shipping containers (RPSCs) rather than singleuse corrugated boxes. Over a period of two years, the Ford Motor Company has eliminated more than 150 million pounds of wood and cardboard packaging that would have gone to a landfill by asking its suppliers to use returnable plastic... 

Pepsi-cola saved 44 million in 2004 by switching from corrugated to reusable plastic shipping containers for 1 litfe and 20 oz bottles, conserving 98,000 tonnes of corrugated materials.
