Repair Measures

Disabling if a device must be disabled during start-up or coast-down or because of repair, measures must be taken to maintain the safety level. The disabling must be clearly recognizable. 

Repair Measure for restoring the technically correct state of a technical unit of a system. 

The simulated age development of the component modelled by the above Petri net can be seen in Fig. 3. During the simulation a failure occurred followed by an imperfect repair measurement with an age reduction of 75 %. 

The first four scenarios consider the system s behaviour with ungrouped and grouped maintenance actions. Scenario I comprises only ungrouped corrective repair measurements. The scenarios II and III additionally comprise scheduled preventive replacements. Scenario II considers preventive actions at fixed points of time whereas scenario III reschedules a preventive replacement after a previous corrective measurement. The scenario IV performs a dynamic grouping of preventive and corrective maintenance actions without any scheduled measurements. With the assumed parameters, scenario IV results in nearly the same mean operational system availability with slightly less maintenance actions. Figures 6 and 7 show the simulation results of the Scenarios I, II, III and IV... 

The scenarios IX to XI consider the effect of varying grades of renewal of the applied grouped repair measurements. The Figs 11 and 12 show the significant influence of the quahty of the repair measurements on the system s availability and the group size distribution.
