The murrastifolines exhibited characteristic carbazole UV spectra. Their H-NMR spectra showed signals for aromatic methoxy ((5 3.57-4.11) and methyl groups ( 2.52-2.56). In the aromatic region, signals of a four-spin system and two singlets for H-4 (6 7.56-7.63) and H-2 (S 6.85-7.00) were observed. The H-NMR spectra, NOE studies, and mass fragments at m/z 210 or 211 confirmed murrayafoline A (7) as the common structural unit for all murrastifolines (Schemes 2.42-2.44).

The advent of positron emitters for cell labeUng will render possible the quantification of the regional signal from sequestered and migrated cells (19). However, variability in the state of activation of cells that have been handled remains a concern regarding the interpretation of data obtained by using this or similar techniques. 

Based on the measurements presented here and those of others one can conclude that the data at CBL reflects a regional signal of metals in wet deposition and not specifically the diluted signal from Baltimore, or another urban center. The correlations at CBL between metals are less significant than those of the urban location and this is expected as this site is likely impacted by a variety of sources with different trace metal signatures, such as ocean-derived precipitation. Storm direction is an important determinant of observed concentration. 

Secondly, a short pulse duration is required in order to achieve a good axial resolution, i.e. two signals close together should be detected without interference. The task can be, for example, to detect a small reflector close to the surface or back wall of the test object, as the inspection has to cover the total volume as complete as possible, including the near-surface regions.
