Linear region

The second region, the moderate activity region (linear), is characterized by nearly a linear change, over the narrow band of the 4x10 -6 3.7... [Pg.479]

Most determinations of coating thickness are based on measurements of characteristic radiation from the coating. The thickness can be considered to fall into one of three regions linear, exponential, and infinite thickness. In the linear region, absorption of the incident and fluorescent radiation by the very thin coating is negligible therefore, the intensity is linearly related to the coating thickness. For films of intermediate thickness, the intensity is an exponential function of thickness. As the thickness approaches infinity, the intensity becomes constant. [Pg.408]

Super-extrusion is a technique whereby the shear stress in the die land is above the critical shear rate for melt fracture see Section 7.5.3.2. This is possible with polymers that exhibit a second stable region above the melt fracture region. Linear polymers such as HDPE, EEP, and PEA exhibit super-extrusion behavior. The melt fracture behavior can be determined on a capillary rheometer by running a polymer melt at different shear rates and observing the corresponding condition of the extru-date. A typical flow curve for a linear polymer is shown in Eig. 11.43. [Pg.844]

The general absorptions of methylene groups are illustrated in Figure 2.7, a spectrum of n-decane. 23.1 First Overtone Region — Linear Molecules... [Pg.42]

It is well known that chromatographic separation depends primarily on the adsorption isotherms, which relates the solutes concentration in the mobile phase to that of the stationary phase over the concentration range of interest. In the diluted region, linear isotherm was expressed as ... [Pg.266]

Assiuning the adsorbed phase to be a two-dimensional ideal gas and assuming the adsorption occurs in the Henry s law region (linear isotherm), the following equation of state can be substituted in Eq. (29) ... [Pg.190]

Centineo et al developed a method based on the use of FI-HG-ICP-TOF-MS for the quasi-simultaneous determination of seven elements forming hydrides (As, Bi, Ge, Hg, Sb, Se and Sn). Analytical figures of merit such as detection limits in the low pg/mL region, linearity over more than five orders of magnitude and repeatability of 2-5% RSD allowed application of this strategy for highly accurate analysis of urine samples. [Pg.77]

Open cell flexible foams and their mechanical properties have been investigated by many authors [3-7]. It is understood that the deformation shows three regions linear... [Pg.2916]
