Reference types

Reference electrodes. There are two types of reference electrodes (see the scheme in Section 1.3.1) (a) those constructed as a reference type and (b) those used as a reference type both types fulfil the requirement of a constant reference potential by either being non-polarizable or becoming non-polarized during the measurememt. 

Close-packed element structure types. The structures of the close-packed metals are a simple well-known example of homeotect structure types. We have seen that the following metals can be considered as reference types. 

The NiAs structure is an important reference type because of its several (filled-up and defect) derivative structures. If atoms are left out of the metal layers in an ordered way, defects superstructures are obtained the Cdl2 type is obtained when all the metal atoms are omitted in alternate layers. On the contrary other derivative structures (filled-up structures) may be obtained by adding atoms in the same layers as...

RefWorks is published by RefWorks.com and emphasizes the convenience and collaborative nature of Web-based software. The program and updates are provided on the RefWorks server, and users bibliographic data are stored there as well. Multiuser accounts are available for collaborative work. The options for filters, fields, reference types, and templates are less developed in RefWorks than in the other tools discussed here and do not include filters or templates for ACS journal styles.

Excel Tip. You can use F4 (Windows) or COMMAND+T (Macintosh) to toggle between cell reference types. Select the cell reference by double-clicking on it in the formula bar (or just put the insertion point cursor anywhere in the reference), then press F4 to cycle through the formats, in the sequence relative (e.g., A1), absolute (e.g., A 1), mixed (e.g.,A 1), mixed (e.g., A1). If you are typing a formula, you can use F4 after typing the cell reference Excel converts the reference to the immediate left of the insertion point.
