Rectifying diode

Figure 7.6 shows typcial current density-voltage-luminance (J-V-L) and emission characteristics of an OLED device. OLEDs have a similar electrical characteristic to that of a rectifying diode. Sihcon of hyperpurity, doped with trace elements, such as boron, phosphorus, arsenic, and gadium is one of the best semiconductors. They are used in transistors, power rectifiers, diodes and solar ceds. Sihcon rectifiers are most efficient in converting a-c to d-c electricity. Hydrogenated amorphous sihcon converts solar energy into electricity.

Ballasts shall be constructed so that their limiting temperature shall not be exceeded in this case. When type tests are carried out, this effect can be simulated easily by inserting a rectifier diode in the lamp circuit. 

The selectivity of charge injection/extraction into/from the molecular HOMO or LUMO levels ensures the rectifying diode behavior of these organic devices [64]. The different working regimes of these MIM devices due to externally applied voltages are shown in Fig. 6.
