RECT METHODS

The simplest method of spin labelling is to utilise a functional group on the polymer to attach the label, usually via a condensation reaction (Scheme 1). Labels can also be introduced by less rect methods. For example, the Keana synthesis [6] (Scheme 2) has been used to label polyethylene that had been copolymerised with a small amount of carbon monoxide [7]. Polystyrene has been labelled by reacting the lightly lithiated polymer with either 2-methyl-2-nitrosopropane or nitrosobenzene (Scheme 3) [8].

A review of deconvolution methods applied to ESCA (Carley and Joyner, 1979) shows that Van Cittert s method has played a big role. Because the Lorentzian nature of the broadening does not completely obliterate the high Fourier frequencies as does the sine-squared spreading encountered in optical spectroscopy (its transform is the band-limiting rect function), useful restorations are indeed possible through use of such linear methods. Rendina and Larson (1975), for example, have used a multiple filter approach. Additional detail is given in Section IV.E of Chapter 3. 

So far, the 2D INADEQUATE experiment turns out to be the method of choice with re rect to investigations of three-dimensioiud bonding connectivities within zeolitic material lattices. This approach is of general interest, since the experiments can be carried out on 29si natural abundant zeolitic material samples. 

An alternative method of getting pharmacokinetic data is to take a small extra sample of blood (and urine) at a child s regular scheduled visit when blood is drawn for routine blood work. The time of day of this sample is predetermined by the time of the administration of the medicine. If samples are obtained from many children, a weight-age-cor-rected, scatter-plot graph can be constructed and a pharmacokinetic profile be calculated. This is the pharmacokinetic screen method. A version of this method is also utilized to gather ethnic data for labeling in adults as well as children, and is called population pharmacokinetics .
