Receptors at the Air-Water Interface

214 R = 2-Octyldodecyl 215 R = 4-tert-Butylbenzyl -CH2CH=C(CH3)CH2CH2CH=C(CH3)2 (Geranyl) [Pg.131]

The cooperative binding of saccharides by the diboronic acid derivatives 213, 214, 215 and 216 on monolayers has also been investigated by Ludwig and found to be in agreement with its recognition pattern in homogeneous solutions.Molecular recognition in this system has been studied by Duse-mund and also seems to be facilitated by closely located ammonium cations. [Pg.131]

Recently, Kurihara has prepared electroconductive LB films for sugar recognition. A polymerised electroconductive boronic acid LB film was transferred onto a gold surface, binding with an electroactive manoside (nitrobenzene) was monitored by cyclic voltammetry.  [Pg.131]

Pietraszkiewicz has investigated the interaction of L-sorbose, o-glucose, d-galactose and o-cellobiose with Langmuir films of boron-containing cavitands derived from calix[4]resorcinarenes. Binding could be detected but, they were unable to make any conclusions regarding the stereochemistry or stoichiometry of the complexes formed. [Pg.131]
