Selenides reactions with

A -methyl-5//,7//-dibenzo[d,.g][l,5]telluroazocine 65, its thiooxide 67a (X=S, R= Me) (95JA6388). The same type of reaction with benzylamine and sodium selenide gives A-benzyl-5//,7//-dibenzo[d,g][l,5]telluroazocine selenoxide 67b (X = Se, R = CH2Ph). Reaction of the tellurium dibromide 66 with sodium sulfide carried out in the absence of the primary amines affords the eight-member Te,S-containing heterocycle 5//,7//-dibenzo[d,g][l,5]telluroazocine (92CL151). 

The method described here is a modification of that of Schoeller.1 Diphenyl selenide has also been prepared from diazotized aniline and alkali monoselenides 2 by the Friedel-Crafts reaction with benzene and selenium tetrachloride3 or selenium dioxide 4 from diphenyl sulfone and selenium 5 from phenylmagnesium bromide and selenium,6 selenium dichloride,7... 

So, this fact is strong evidence in favor of the intra- and inter-molecular dative P—B bond in 126. In solution, 126 is easily oxidized and undergoes addition reactions with sulfur and selenium, with the formation of the corresponding oxide (166), sulfide (167), or selenide (168) [Eq. (129)]. The 3,P chemical shifts of other compounds (166) (27 ppm), (167) (47 ppm), and (168) (46 ppm) are close to that observed for their structural analogues. These data and the values of dipole moments of 4,3 and 4,5 D for 166 and 167, respectively, make it possible to exclude the formation of intramolecular dative P—B bonds similar to those observed for borylphosphine ethene... 

Reaction with unsaturated selenides.2 Organotin compounds are useful in synthesis because they undergo Sn/Li exchange and also various condensations with electrophiles. A new route to organotrimethyltin compounds involves reaction of (CH3)3SnLi (1) with various selenides.

For the synthesis of selenocysteine derivatives that are suitable for peptide synthesis essentially two approaches have been used to date (1) conversion of p-chloroalanine 23 or serine-O-tosylate derivatives 24 into the desired selenocysteine derivatives by a nucleophilic displacement reaction with an areneselenol and (2) full reduction of selenocystine and in situ reaction with aryl halides to produce the aryl selenides. 7 25 In this context, reduction of selenocystine in 2 M NaOH with 2-methyl-2-propanethiol for concomitant formation of the mixed selenide/sulfide derivative 5e-(tert-butylsulfanyl)selenocysteine in analogy to the formation of 5-(fett-butylsulfanyl)cysteine 26 fails as a consequence of the difficult reduction of the diselenide with monothiols. 27 ...
