Reactions of carbonyl dibromide with water

COBfj reacts slowly with water at room temperature, according to [1626a,2126]  

This reaction appears slower than that of phosgene [1822], with a half-life of ca. 10 min at ambient temperature [6S]. In basic solution, the reaction is rapid [1822]  

Even at its boiling point, there is no significant reaction between COBr and mercury
