2-Dimethylphosphano-, dimethylarsano-, and dimethylstibanophenyl methyl tellurium reacted with excess methyl iodide in acetone at the P, As, or Sb atom to produce trimethylonium iodides  

The 2-methoxy-, 2-methylthio-, and 2-methylselenophenyl methyl telluriums were methylated at the tellurium atom to give telluronium iodides.
