Ma Huang Gen (Ephedrae radix) and Nuo Dao Gen Xu (Oryzae glutinosae radix et rhizoma)... 

For severe headache, substitute Radix Rubrus Paeoniae Lactiflorae Chi Shad) for White Peony and add Radix Et Rhizoma Ligustici Gao Ben). 

If there is only mild accumulation or in patients with bodily weakness and vacuity, use processed Radix Et Rhizoma Rhei Zhi Da Huang). 

Radix Et Rhizoma Rhei (Da Huang), 500g, remove the skin... 

For chronic hepatitis with insomnia, excessive dreams, a bitter taste in the mouth, a red tongue with scant coating, and a wiry, thready, rapid pulse, add Herba Ecliptae Prostratae (Han Lian Cao), Fructus Ligustri Lucidi (Nu Zhen Zi), Concha Margaritiferae (Zhen Zhu Mu), and Radix Et Rhizoma Oryzae Glutinosae (Nuo Dao Gen). 

For chronic biliary tract infection, add Cortex Radicis Lycii (Di Gu Pi), Radix Et Rhizoma Oryzae Glutinosae (Nuo Dao Gen), Herba Dendrobii (Shi Hu), Radix Codonopsis Pilosulae (Dang Shen), and raw Concha Ostreae (ShengMu Li) to clear heat, enrich yin, and support the righteous. 

For acute icteric hepatitis, add Yin Chen Hao Tang (Artemisia Capillaris Decoction), i.e., Herba Artemisiae Capillaris (Yin Chen Hao), Fructus Gardeniae Jasminoidis (Zhi Zi), and Radix et Rhizoma Rhei (Da Huang). 

For esophageal spasm, add Semen Oroxyli Indici Mu Hu Die) and Fructus Germinatus Hordei Vulgaris Mai Ya). In severe cases, add Radix Et Rhizoma Rhei Da Huang). 

For premenstrual breast distention and pain, add Fructus Trichosanthis Kirlowii (Gua Lou) and Radix Et Rhizoma Notopterygii (Qiang Huo). 

For high fever and constipation with excessive sweating, thirst, irritability, reddish yellow, scanty, painful urination, and, in severe cases, delirious speech or mania, add Radix Et Rhizoma Rhei (Da Huang). This results in Bai Hu Cheng Qi Tang (White Tiger Order the Qi Decoction). 

If there is stasis heat with jaundice, add Herba Artemisiae Capillaris Yin Chen) and Radix Et Rhizoma Rhei Da Huang) in order to strengthen the clearing of heat and resolving of toxins, the elimination of dampness and receding of yellowing. 

For chronic sciatica which will not heal, add Radix Praeparatus Aconiti Carmichaeli (Fu Zi), Radix Et Rhizoma Rhei (Da Huang), Radix Dipsaci (Xu Duan), and Rhizoma Cibotii Barometsis (Gou Ji). 

For headache at the vertex or pain inside the head, add Radix Et Rhizoma Ligustici Chinensis (Gao Ben). 

For constipation, add processed Radix Et Rhizoma Rhei Zhi Da Huang). 

For amenorrhea due to blood stasis and replete heat in the interior with dry, hard stools and constipation, add Radix Et Rhizoma Rhei (Da Huang), Mirabilitum (Mang Xiao), and Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gan Cao). This results in Yu Zhu San (Jade Candle Powder). 

For numbness in the upper extremities, add Radix Et Rhizoma Notopterygii QiangHuo) and Rhizoma Ligustici Wallichii Chuan Xiong). 

If night sweats are severe, add Fructus Levis Tritici Fu Xiao Mai), Radix Ephedrae (Ma Huang Gen), and Radix Et Rhizoma Oryzae Sativae (Nao Dao Gen Xu). 

If there is no perspiration and a very wiry or tight pulse, add Radix Et Rhizoma Notopterygii Qiang Huo). 

For high fever due to severe heat, add Radix Gentianae Scabrae Long Dan Cao), Radix Isatidis Seu Baphicacanthi (Ban Lan Gen), and Radix Et Rhizoma Polygoni Cuspidati (Hu Zhang).
