Radicals Containing an Oxocin Ring

The anion-radical of naphth[l,8- /e]oxocin (88) has been obtained during a study of radicals from naphthalene with unsaturated peri substituents  [Pg.67]

88 gave an exceptionally well resolved ESR spectrum when produced by reduction of the parent compound with sodium-potassium alloy in THF. Specific deuteration experiments confirmed the assignment of the major hyperfine splitting (indicated in 88 in gauss) in the heterocycle. [Pg.68]
