Rack-type arrangement

In a related strategy, Lehn and coworkers have prepared more rigid two-metal-binding and three-metal-binding ligands based on fused terpyridine derivatives, and have shown that these organize two or three terpyridine metal complexes in a rack-type arrangement, as in (40). The structures were supported by and C NMR spectroscopy, and a crystal structure for the diruthenium system was obtained [48]. [Pg.21]

A rack-like arrangement schematically represented by 160, would be formed by the complexation of several metal ions to rigid, linear sequences of binding sites. Thus, binding of bipy or phen units to 155 and to its extended tri- and tetratopic analogues present in 157 and in 158 via metal ions of tetrahedral coordination such as Cu(l) and Ag(l) should yield rack structures of type 160. With the bipy or phen unit included in a macrocycle, inorganic rotaxane-type structures (see also Section 9.6) such as 159 have been obtained [9.97a]. A linear sequence of connected terpy sites such as 161 yields racks with individual terpy units and metal ions of octahedral coordination [9.97b]. [Pg.157]

Thirteen reduced-commodity fire tests were conducted focusing on a comparison of the flammability characteristics of FM Global standard commodities and the three types of cartoned Li-ion battery products. All tests were free bum fire tests that measured the heat release rate and the evaluated time of battery involvement for the Li-ion products. Each test was conducted in a two by one by three high pallet load rack storage arrangement that represents storage up to 15 ft tall. [Pg.22]

Racks 2 and 3 were received at the second RCM. Just before loading these racks into the spent fuel pool, the coupons were removed and photographed. The coupons were not given any surface treatment. Rack 2 was loaded on 1998-03-18 about 50 cm from the side and above MTR type spent fuel assembly No. 12. Rack 3 was immersed in a different location about 3 m below the pool surface and also 50 cm from the side wall. The coupon arrangement was as received. [Pg.199]
