Quervain’s disease

De Quervain s disease—The tendon sheath of both the long and short abductor muscles of the thumb narrows. [Pg.477]

Musculoskeletal disorders are disorders of the muscles, nerves, tendons, ligaments, joints, cartilage and spinal discs not caused by slips, trips, falls, motor vehicle accidents or other similar accidents. Radioiodine uptake can be used to test thyroid function, though technetium would be more usual. Scanning may be used for the identification of solitary nodules, and in the differential diagnosis of Graves disease from the less common thyroiditides (e.g. de Quervain s thyroiditis).
