Quantum dot-polymer system

This section describes the enhancement of emission and sensitivity of the QD-polymer system before going on to review intrinsic and extrinsic PL responses in non-monotonic sensing.

Controlled drop-casting, plus manipulation of the solvents, is the key to the high emission and collection outcomes achieved for the QD-polymer system A. One direct benefit is that film A displays sensitive PL responses to hydrocarbon vapor exposures with a detection limit of 15 ppm for xylenes.
