Pyridyl amines

The ligand tris(2-pyridyl)amine reacts with [ReCl3(PPh3)(benzil)] to yield the brown complex [ReCl3(L)] which has been characterized by spectroscopic methods. The compound possesses a remarkable thermal stability and survives attempted thermolysis at 270... 

Grant et al. described an investigation of the ternary complex of ATP and bis(2-pyridyl)amine (MgATP/BPA), using advanced solid-state NMR methods such as Mg REDOR and Mg MQMAS in Mg-isotopically enriched samples. In the 3QMAS spectrum, the authors detected the presence of two Mg sites with close Mg quadrupole parameters. With help of a REDOR experiment, the assignment of these two sets of parameters to Mg ions either coordinated to water molecules or to phosphate oxygen donors was then possible.

Inhibitors of the blood clotting factor thrombin would in principle prove useful in preventing inappropriate clot formation that potentially leads to stroke and heart attack. N 24.55%. It exists as Di-a-(or Di-2-pyridyl-amine, crysts (from w), mp 95° ndls (from eth), mp 84° and Di-y-(or Di-4-pyridyl amine, It-yel ndls (from benz), mp 138°. Both form cryst salts (Ref 1)... 

The residue in the flask is said to contain 4-amino- and 2,6-diaminopyridine, 4,4 -bipyridyl and di(2-pyridyl) amine in varying amounts.

Further derivatives of amines in which the a-C,H groups are sufficiently acidic to enable metalation are carbamates [235,238-240] (Scheme 5.26), imides[241], N-nitroso amines [59,242], ureas [201,243], some N-phosphorus derivatives [212, 214, 226, 244, 245], N-(2-pyridyl)amines (Scheme 5.26), and isonitriles [59]. A potential side reaction in the examples in Scheme 5.26 is the lithiation of the arene this is, in fact, observed with an isomeric dipyridopyrazine (last reaction, Scheme5.26).
