Pyrethrin extract analysis

The authors thank D. Wymer of the Procter Gamble Company for assistance with the citrus oils SFC/FT-IR analyses, J. Freal of Adams Veterinary Research Laboratories for the pyrethrin extract, G. Adams and K. Kempfert of Nicolet Instrument Corporation for assistance with the SFC/FT-IR interface and pyrethrin extract analysis respectively. 

Two different SFC/FT-IR systems were used for this work. System 1 was used for the packed coliunn analysis of volatile citrus oil components. System 2 was used for the pesticide and pyrethrin extract analyses. 

Thin-Layer Chromatography. A study using thin-layer chromatography both for separating components of a pyrethrum extract and for purifying single components has been made. Other reports have mentioned the use of thin-layer chromatography in various connections related to pyrethrin analysis. Analysis of process development data - The following illustrates how PDU data can be used to develop a commercial SCFCO2 plant s process design. This data is provided by Marc Sims on pyrethrins, a natural insecticide extracted with subcritical and supercritical carbon dioxide from pyrethrum flowers (a species of chrysanthemum).
