Pyrene dissolved organic carbon-water

Oikari, A, and J. Kukkonen. 1990. Bioavailability of benzo(a)pyrene and dehydroabietic acid from a few lake waters containing varying amounts of dissolved organic carbon concentrations to Daphnia magna. Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology 45 54. [Pg.183]

Many ctors detennine the te and transport of an organic pollutant in the environment but water solubility is certainly one of the most inq)ortant. Among the environmental ctors that alter the solubility of a molecule is naturally occurring dissolved organic carbon (DOC). We have hypothesized that the DOC from different sources within a watershed have different binding affinities for pollutants such as pyrene. [Pg.288]
