Purple granule

Properties Moist, irregular, dark blue or purple granules slightly pungent odor. [Pg.115]

Phentetiothalien sodium Phenoltetraiodothalein sodium. Used in cholecystography. Bronze-purple granules, soluble in H2O, EtOH. [Pg.347]

These polymorphs are divided into three subgroups by virtue of the staining properties of their cytoplasmic contents when treated with dye mixtures. Thus, eosinophils stain with acid dyes such as eosin and appear red in stained blood films, basophils stain with basic dyes and appear blue whilst neutrophils stain with both types of dye and their cytoplasm appears purple. The differences between the cytoplasmic contents in these cells types is much more fundamental than is suggested by these simple staining properties. The granules of basophils, neutrophils and eosinophils contain distinct molecular constituents that confer upon the cells their specialised functions during infection and inflammation. [Pg.4]

Do not use if packet is swollen or the granules have lost their tan color, turning dark brown or purple. [Pg.1722]

Protect from moisture, light, and extremes of temperature do not use if packets are swollen or if granules turn dark brown or purple... [Pg.56]

Following this discovery, several other bacteria were found to elaborate a-amylases that could digest potato starch granules an anaerobic Clostridium butyricum 206 a non-sulfur purple photosynthetic bacterium, Rhodopseudomonas gelatinosa 205 and two other Bacillus species.206,207... [Pg.272]

Lymphocyte Dark purple nucleus, light blue cytoplasm that may contain reddish granules... [Pg.443]

Mast Dark blue-purple nucleus, blue cytoplasm with dark blue-black granules... [Pg.443]

The cell viability was evaluated by measuring mitochondrial dehydrogenize activity with MTT assay. This assay measures the cell activity, proliferation rate and cell viability. The yellow tetrazolium MTT (3-(4, 5-dimethylthiazolyl-2)-2, 5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide) is reduced to insoluble purple formazan granules by all living, metabolically active cells. The precipitated formazan was dissolved in isopropanol, and the absorbance was read at 595 nm. Absorbance values that are lower than the control cells indicate a reduction in the cell activity and viability. Conversely, a higher absorbance rate indicates an increase in cell viability/ proliferation. [Pg.70]

Bolley s Gold Purple. A colour that has been used on porcelain. A solution of stannic ammonium chloride is left for some days in contact with granulated tin and is then treated with dilute gold chloride solution. The gold purple is precipitated. [Pg.33]
