Propyl acrylate

A final class of high burning rate proplnts combines the high density and high impulse difluoramino compds in their binders with the carborane derivatives. Jones (Ref 79) described the preparation of TVOPA (1,2,3-tris [1,2-bis-(difluoramino)ethoxy] propane, 1PCA (1-iso-propenyl-carboranyl-acetone) and NFPA (2,3-bis(difluoramino) propyl acrylate) and proplnts... 

Propyl Acrylate (Propylic Acid, Propyl ester). The (theoretical) parent compd for nitroolefin polymers used as propints and expls such as 2,2-Dinitropropylacrylate (DNPA) . See under this title in this Vol, N139-R to N140-L. 

Hexafluoro-2-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-propyl acrylate (la) and hexafluoro-2-(4-fluorophenyl)-2-propyl methacrylate (lb)7 were prepared by gradually adding a solution of 0.06 mol of acryloyl or methacryloyl chloride, respectively, in 20 ml of tetrahydrofuran (THF), to a cooled solution of 0.04 mol of HFAF in 50 ml of THF containing 0.06 mol oftriethylamine. The mixture was stirred for 10-12 h at room temperature it then was poured into 200ml of water, and the new product was extracted with diethyl ether. After the diethyl ether was evaporated, the crude product was purified by column chromatography using a mixture of hexane and dichloromethane (1 1 by volume) as the elution solvent. Distillation afforded la, b.p. 72-74°C/10"3 mm Hg, and lb, b.p. 48-52oC/103 mm Hg. 

Would olefins be considered suitable feedstock for manufacturing acrylonitrile, propyl acrylate, MMA, and methacrylonitrile Elaborate.

Additional block terpolymers containing propyl acrylate and star block terpo-lymers containing styrene were previously prepared by the author [2] and used in hot-melt pressure-sensitive and heat-activatable adhesives.
