Methyl acetone is a clear, colorless, flammable, volatile liquid, obtained from the product af the destructive distillation of wood. Although It vories In composition it is generally composed of acetone 35 ta 60%, methanol 20 to 40%, and methyl acetate 20 to 30%. [Pg.641]

Diacetone alcohol is a flammable liquid that is colorless when pure, becoming yellow an aging it has a mint-like odar. Made by the condensation of acetone, the commercial product contains up to 15% of acetone. For this reason the technical praduct is superior in its solvent power ta the acetane-free grade. [Pg.642]
