Proper motion

Bulge studies in the near future will greatly benefit from derivations of abundance ratios in large samples of stars, together with kinematics, including radial velocities and proper motion determinations.

Pulsar kick velocities. Based on measurements of proper motions of 100 radio pulsars, it is well established now [91, 7] that young neutron stars demonstrate space velocities up to several 100 km/s which cannot be explained without introducing additional natal kicks. 

Subpoenas Duces Tecum. The clerk of the court may, upon the request of one of the parties and under the seal of the court, issue a subpoena commanding persons to attend and give testimony or to produce the books, papers, or other documents designed therein. The court, however, may, upon proper motion by the party served, squash the subpoena if it is unreasonable or unduly oppressive, or condition or modify its effect. Subpoenas constitute one of the principal instruments of the government in the prosecution of criminal antitrust cases. They are usually served prior to the start of the trial or very early therein, in order to allow the respondents ample time to comply. 

For polytypes in which layers are related only by proper motions, like 37, two twins operations with the same rotational part and differing only for the proper/improper character of the motion produce the same twin lattice. The corresponding two twin laws are however different, and thus an orientation produced by an improper motion is hereafter distinguished by a small black circle ( ) after the Zt symbol. 

It should be noted that the proper motion of lipophilic electron and proton carriers in the membrane is not at all obligatory. The presence in the ubiquinone molecule of a hydrocarbon tail with conjugated bonds indicates the possibility of the motion of protons along the ubiquinone molecule, since a proton in a nonaqueous phase can be trapped by a conjugated bond forming a sort of Lewis acid.

Heart failure is associated with an elevated venous pressure. Treating the lymphatics increases lymphatic return and reduces the central venous pressure. Proper motion of the ribcage and the many diaphragms of the body are important in maintaining the pressure gradients for lymphatic and venous return.
