Propargylation of Heteroaromatic and Aromatic Compounds with Propargylic Alcohols 

In all cases, the propargylation occurred selectively at the a-position of the heterocyclic rings, while the (l-propargylated indole was obtained in the reaction with indole. 

5-trimethylbenzene, p-xylene, toluene, benzene, and fenrocene were used, indicating that this catalytic propargylation proceeded only when highly electron-rich arenes were used.
