Propagation model

This equation shows that the maximum overpressure, generated by a constant velocity flame fkmt, continually decreases as it propagates. Modeling an explosion of an extended flat vapor cloud by a single monopole located in the cloud s center is not, however, very realistic. [Pg.96]

A general purpose program has been developed for the analysis of NMR spectra of polymers. A database contains the peak assignments, stereosequence names for homopolymers or monomer sequence names for copolymers, and intensities are analyzed automatically in terms of Bernoullian or Markov statistical propagation models. A calculated spectrum is compared with the experimental spectrum until optimized probabilities, for addition of the next polymer unit, that are associated with the statistical model are produced. [Pg.160]

Such models must be entirely symmetrical in three-dimensional space so that we can arrange them properly to form a 3-dimensional solid. Because of this limitation, we find that only certain types of propagation models will work. And, in doing so, we can gain further insight into the properties of a solid. To understand this, consider the following discussion. [Pg.17]

The present research has treated important parts of the modeling of combustion and NOx formation in a biomass grate furnace. All parts resulted in useful approaches. For all these approaches successful first steps were taken. Currently, more research is underway to obtain improved results NH3 production is measured in the grid reactor with the tunable diode laser, detailed kinetics will be attached to the front propagation model, including the measured NH3 release functionalities, and for the turbulent combustion model heat losses are taken into account. In addition, the fuel layer model has to be coupled to the turbulent combustion model in the furnace. [Pg.180]

The polymer stereosequence distributions obtained by NMR analysis are often analyzed by statistical propagation models to gain insight into the propagation mechanism [Bovey, 1972, 1982 Doi, 1979a,b, 1982 Ewen, 1984 Farina, 1987 Inoue et al., 1984 Le Borgne et al., 1988 Randall, 1977 Resconi et al., 2000 Shelden et al., 1965, 1969]. Propagation models exist for both catalyst (initiator) site control (also referred to as enantiomorphic site control) and polymer chain end control. The Bemoullian and Markov models describe polymerizations where stereochemistry is determined by polymer chain end control. The catalyst site control model describes polymerizations where stereochemistry is determined by the initiator. [Pg.708]

Various non-Markovian and Markovian models have been proposed to account for observed frequencies of low order n(ads). Restricting ourselves to Markovian propagation models one finds an interesting indeterminancy for sufficiently complex propagation models in that one must consider reversibility of a model mechanism.1 Consider the pure polymer1... [Pg.202]

The steric triad distributions of polypropylene with structure (IS) are consistent with an enantiomorphic-site propagation model based on stereochemical control by the chirality of the active center on the catalyst 132,133). It should be noted that isotactic polypropylenes are formed along both propagation models, enantiomorphic-site control and chain-end control. [Pg.244]

Besides these qualitative observations, it is of interest to examine the coke depositions quantitatively as well. In Figures 2 and 3, coke deposition exhibits an S-shaped curve. This general behavior was analyzed by us previously using a two-step autocatalytic (initiation/propagation) model [7]. Tn brief, for a catalyst with coke deposition level C, the incremental coke deposited (dC) for an incremental pulse (dR) of reactant contains two contributions, one proportional to the number of uncoked sites (i.e., a non-catalytic or initiation step), and the other proportional to the number of coked sites adjacent to uncoked sites (i.e., a catalytic or propagation step). Then... [Pg.277]
