Program development, green

The third component to many tenure and promotion decisions is often referred to as service . This has many definitions and is generally split into service for the college and service to the outside community. Green chemistry is being utilized as a way for chemists to reach out to the community in a positive way and to involve students in service learning type projects. Expansion of green chemistry into the K-12 curriculum has been fostered by outreach programs developed by many people. 

Lead structure According to Valler and Green s definition a lead structure is a representative of a compound series with sufficient potential (as measured by potency, selectivity, pharmacokinetics, physicochemical properties, absence of toxicity and novelty) to progress to a full drug development program [12]. 

The book Green Profits A Manager s Handbook for ISO 14001 and Pollution Prevention (N. P. Cheremisinoff and A. Bendavid-Val, Butterworth-Heinemann, Mass., 2001) provides a step-by-step approach to developing pollution prevention programs in an organization. In this section we summarize the basic approach for the reader, but refer you to the above publication for further details and examples.
