Prindpal component analysis

KaUszan, R. Osmialowski, K. Bassler, B.J. Hartwick, R.A. Mechanism of retention in high-performance Uquid chromatography on porous graphitized carbon as revealed by prindpal component analysis of structural descriptor of solutes. J. Chromatogr. 1990, 499, 333-344. [Pg.1180]

Selecting the most appropriate set of test compounds for use in the evaluation of stationary phases is a key step of a chromatographic test. Only test compotmds possessing quite different physicochemical and structural properties will induce different interactions with the stationary phase, thereby allowing a good evaluation of its chromatographic performance. For this reason, it is highly recommended that a chemometric tool, such as Prindpal Component Analysis, is used for the selection of the most appropriate compounds. [Pg.281]

Prindpal components in PCA or common factors in factor analysis are sometimes called latent variables. [Pg.143]
