Primary thyroid lymphoma is usually of B-ceU origin, occurs more frequendy in older females, and shows a tendency to increase after salt iodization (Harach and WiUiams 1995 Schmid et al, 1986) (Table 89.6). These observations suggest that primary thyroid lymphoma could be related to an increase in thyroiditis, although the increasing age of the population must also be taken into... 

Primary effusion lymphoma, thyroid carcinoma, breast carcinoma, adrenal cortical tumors, keratoacanthomaO... 

It would be unlikely that a primary lymphoma occurred in a thyroid without lymphocytic infiltration. 

Primary lymphoma would not be expected to occur in a thyroid that lacked lymphocytic infiltration.
