Preparation reaction with organic halide Suzuki

The palladium-catalysed Suzuki coupling reaction of aryl halides with arylboronic acids has proved to be a general and convenient synthetic tool employed in organic chemistry to prepare biaryl compounds.[1] The discovery and development of active and efficient palladium-catalyst systems have been the focus of great interest recently. New catalytic systems based on paUadium-oxazolines, such as 2-aryl oxazolines and 2,2 -(l,3-phenylene)bisoxazoline (Figure 4.1) have been developed for the coupling reaction. These catalytic systems have the potential to overcome... [Pg.74]

The palladium-catalyzed coupling of boronic acids with aryl and alkenyl halides, the Suzuki reaction, is one of the most efficient C-C cross-coupling processes used in reactions on polymeric supports. These coupling reactions requires only gentle heating to 60-80 °C and the boronic acids used are nontoxic and stable towards air and water. The mild reaction conditions have made this reaction a powerful and widely used tool in the organic synthesis. When the Suzuki reaction is transferred to a solid support, the boronic add can be immobilized or used as a liquid reactant Carboni and Carreaux recently reported the preparation of the macroporous support that can be employed to efficiently immobilize and transform functionalized arylboronic adds (Scheme 3.12) [107, 246, 247]. [Pg.166]

In addition to the well-known organic-phase transformations, the Suzuki reaction also offers methods for the crosscoupling of aryl halides with hydrophilic functional groups. These reactions therefore, require polar solvents such as water. El-Sayed s group prepared 3.6 0.73 nm PVP-stabilized palladium nanoparticles and showed them to act as efficient catalysts for the Suzuki crosscouplings as colloids... [Pg.346]
