To a 3-liter, 3-necked resin flask equipped with a mechanical stirrer, condenser, and thermometer are added 810 gm of 37% (10.0 moles) of formaldehyde, 4.0 gm of sodium acetate, and 8.0 gm of concentrated 

This resin is not only useful as a textile resin but also is of value in the manufacture of adhesives (with starch), wood glues for hot- and cold-pressed plywood, and in the paper wet strength resin area.
