Preparation of Active Materials

The preparation of active material for Hanford process research. 

In 1935, Erdos (32) reported on the preparation of active material from liver and on certain of its properties. Finely hashed liver was first ground with quartz powder and then extracted with dilute H2SO4 at different temperatures. The extracts, concentrated at 60-70° C. until the dry wei t constituted about 60 per cent, were then mixed with about ten fold volumes of H2O, wanned to 50°, cooled, filtered, brought to pH 7.5-8 wdth NaHCQj,...
