Preliminary Investigations of Toxicity

In population-level studies, attention is focused on the relationship between exposure to a chemical and the incidence of toxicity in the test population. The size of the test population depends on the statistical power required of the test (see Chapter 4) 

The Quantal Dose-Effect Relationship Frequency of Anemia as a Function of Chemical Dose in a Test Population of 30 Rats 

Units of dose are milligrams of chemical per kilogram body weight of the test animal.
