PON compounds

The present review is mainly concerned with the crystal chemistry of compounds containing phosphorus(V) boimd to o gen and nitrogen forming P(N, 0)4 tetrahedra. Thus, ammonium phosphates will be omitted as well as hydrazine and carbon containing compoimds. We will focus on the structure of molecular, molecular ionic, and condensed PON compounds. Some aspects of these compounds have been summarized in the literature in the past (13-16). [Pg.194]

The P-NH2 bond lengths in (NH2)3(0)PNP(NH2)3 of amino groups in the vicinity of the 0 atom are slightly longer than the others. This situation is in accordance to the observations in OP(NH2)3 and P(NH2)4 compounds (20, 22, 23). In agreement with the written formula (NH2)s(0)P-N = P(NH2)3, different P-N bond lengths to the bridging N atom are found. [Pg.195]

Following ternary phosphorus oxynitrides, which involve only phosphorus as a cationic element, quaternary and higher oxynitrides will be described. A number of other solid-state PON compounds are under study and, when considering the richness of the phosphate crystal chemistry and the additional degree of freedom given by the presence of nitrogen, it is very probable that many new nitridooxophosphate compositions will be found in the near future. [Pg.210]
