Polystyrole

Impact polystyrene (IPS) is one of a class of materials that contains mbber grafted with polystyrene. This composition is usually produced by polymerizing styrene (by mass or solution free-radical polymerization) in the presence of a small amount (ca 5%) of dissolved elastomer. Some of the important producers of impact-resistant polystyrenes are BASE (Polystyrol), Dow (Styron), and Monsanto (Lustrex). The 1988 U.S. production of impact polystyrene was more than 1 million t (92). 

Whilst there is a large number of manufacturers, two companies, Dow and BASF, have a significant share of the market, with 16.2% and 11.4% respectively for their products Styron and Polystyrol. 

Auch Diphenyl-zinn-dihydrid (Herstellungs.ds. Handb. Bd. XIII/6, S. 258 u. S. 451) und auf Polystyrol auf-getragcnes Dibntyl-zinn-dihydrid1 wird zu Reduktionen eingesctzt. 

In vitro Diagnosis. Unfortunately, there is no reliable in-vitro allergy diagnostic test available for routine use. Gall et al. [27] had used a self-made radioallergosorbent test with coupled LA to polystyrol discs, however, all the patients were negative. In-vitro cellular diagnostic assays have not been described as useful until now.

A quick separation of 152Eu — 241 Am mixture with ammonium lactate as eluant has been described [77]. The influence of the flow rate of the eluant and the particle size of the ion exchanger has been studied. Katex KP-1, a polystyrol cation exchange resin was used to separate 152Eu, 154Eu and 147Pm mixture with success [75].
