Polymeric systems localized moves

Generally, above Tg, thermoplastic polymers undergo cooperative localized motions. Below the second order transition temperature there is not enough energy in the system to enable whole segments of the polymeric chains to move. In the attempt to lock in asymmetry, as stated earlier, one approach is to synthesize polymeric materials with a high Tg. Following is a description of some these materials. [Pg.334]
