Polybutylmethacrylate

The prepared polyphenylsiloxane varnish is filtered through nutsch filter 24 and sent into settling box 25. Sometimes the varnish is subjected to prior modification. For this purpose, apparatus 22 is filled with a necessary amount of glyptal polymer or polybutylmethacrylate. In this case the mixture is agitated for 2 hours and sent through the nutsch filter into settling box 25. The varnish is held there for 3 days and centrifuged. The finished varnish is collected in containers 27. [Pg.292]

Predictions of Eq 4.5 were compared with the experimental data for three polymeric blends polystyrene/polymethylmethacrylate, PS/PMMA, polybutylmethacrylate/polyvinylacetate, PBMA/ PVAc, and PMMA/PBMA. It was found that v agreed with the experimental value of determined for PBMA/PVAc. However, the agreement for PMMA/PBMA was not as good, while for PS/PMMA the difference was 50%. In consequence, the authors postulated that for large values of thickness of the interphase is too small... [Pg.297]

Voyutskii [87] has shown some electron micrographs of the interfaces of poly-methylacrylate-PVC and polybutylmethacrylate-PVC prepared at 210-220°C. Mixing at the interface was much greater with the first pair. [Pg.42]

SEM has been used extensively in morphological studies on polymers. Polymers studied include epoxy resin-polyaniline composites [3], polyoxyethylene [15], polypropylene-polycaprolactone blends [16], polydimethylsiloxane-co-ethylene oxide [17], PET fibres [18], polyurethane/polybutylmethacrylate polymer networks [19], methylacrylate-co-cellulose [20], styrene-butadiene copoylmer [21], Nylon 6-ethylene vinyl alcohol [22] and propylene-calcium carbonate or talc composites [23]. [Pg.428]
