PLX = Picatinny liquid explosive

Eine Mischung Nitromethan/Ethylendiamin 95/5 wird in den USA als PLX (Picatinny Liquid Explosive) bezeichnet und ist fur Raumungs-sprengungen von Minenfeldern vorgesehen. [Pg.234]

PHE plastic high explosive (Brit) PLX Picatinny liquid explosives... [Pg.763]

Nitromethane is considerably less sensitive. The volatility of the compound is high, and the handling of the constituent explosion-producing liquids is complicated. Nevertheless, nitromethane was used in the USA for preliminary studies to the big nuclear explosions ( pregondola etc.). It has also been used in stimulation explosions carried out in gas wells and oil wells. PLX ( Picatinny Liquid Explosive ) consists of 95% nitromethane and 5% ethylenediamine. [Pg.262]

It was used in the USA for underground model explosions ( Pre-Gondola ), in preparation for the -> Nuclear Charge technique. Nitromethane was also employed in stimulation blasting in oil and gas wells. PLX (Picatinny Liquid Explosive) is a mixture of nitromethane with 5% ethylenediamine and is used to clean up mine fields. [Pg.293]

PLX (Picatinny Liquid Explosive) consisting of Nitromethane 95 Ethylene dinitramine 5% was developed at PicArsn by L.H. Eriksen J.W. Rowen for use in minefield clearing (Ref 70, pp 298 to 301)... [Pg.157]

PLX. A liq expl developed at PicArsn (Picatinny Liquid Explosive) during WWII for use in minefield clearing devices, to be loaded by pumping. It consisted of Nitromethane 95 and ethylene-diamine 5%, which were stored and transported separately, and mixed just prior to use... [Pg.792]
