Pliers

On installing Teflon packings, place and seat each ring ringer tight. Do not use wrenches or pliers.

The lever is such a part of everyday activity that its application usually requires no conscious thought the pop top on a soda can, a doorknob, a wrench, pliers, a fishing pole, a faucet with a handle that lifts, a wheelbarrow, fingernail clippers, and so on. The crank and winch used to pull a heavy boat out of the water up onto a trailer can be thought of as a lever in circular form.

The fuse assembly can now be safely removed from the body of the grenade with pliers. See Figure 21. 

Spread the points of the cotter pin safety to prevent accidental dislodging and then unscrew the fuse assembly of the frag grenade with pliers. Another way of priming the charge is to use the booster which is present in the fuse assembly instead of plastic explosive. To do this, leave the wrench on the fuse after it is removed from the shell, grip the booster cup with pliers and unscrew the booster from the fuse.

Multi-purpose tool (pliers, knife, screwdriver, etc.)... 

Materials needed Approximately 1/2 cup castor bean seeds, 2 one-pint jars, one filter funnel, coffee fillers, one pint acetone, table salt, water, and a pair of pliers.

Although pliers could be used, they would tend to slip. Both a lever and a screwdriver would be useless in this instance. 

Chelation (literally pliers or pincers) is the formation of a complex made of a chelating agent, a ligand, and a cation or a metallic atom that is set in the center of the complex. The atom or cation is connected by at least two connections called coordination bonds. Illustrations of important chelating reactions found in ocular corrosive damages the calcium and magnesium ions with oxalic acid or with the fluor ion of hydrofluoric acid (Fig. 3.13).
